First, let me set the table! There is a difference between the iTunes Store and your iTunes Library. When looking at the iTunes Store, you’re looking at an online listing of products, posted by creators It's a storefront maintained by Apple. When you’re looking at your iTunes Library, you’re looking at files you’ve downloaded to your computer. E.g., you use the iTunes Store to search for “Blackbird” by the Beatles. Once you click the “Purchase” button, it is downloaded to your computer and stored in the iTunes Library.
If it looks like there isn’t a new M&L Podcast available in iTunes, it’s probably because you’re looking at our listing in the iTunes Store. That is, you haven’t clicked the Subscribe button yet! Click “Subscribe” and check your iTunes Library under Podcasts.
Unfortunately, the iTunes Store doesn’t always keep up to date. Sometimes it can lag as much a week behind! By listening in the iTunes Store, you aren’t asking Mark and Lynda directly for the new show. You’re relying on Apple to ask Mark and Lynda for the new show. Sometimes Apple doesn't check in, and there’s nothing we can do about it. It's like buying an album, listening to the previews on the iTunes Store, and wondering why you don't have the full album.
If you don't subscribe, here is the flow:
You → Apple → Mark & Lynda → Listen in the iTunes Store
Once you've clicked "Subscribe", here is the flow:
You → Mark & Lynda → Listen in the iTunes Library
By subscribing, you'll be able to get the show without relying on Apple to ask us for it!
To keep up to date in your iTunes, be sure to click the “Subscribe” button and check for the show in your iTunes Library under Podcasts, *not* the iTunes Store.
