This is a good start, a lot of people can't keep up because they smoke.  Besides the "Cold Turkey" method how did you quit?

Laura the key is to eliminate simple carbs like as illustrated with the giving up of sweets as you mentioned.

Also stay away from unnecessary starches after 6:00pm if you can.

Nothing wrong with the burger especially if your using like 90-10 or 93-7 fat content it's the extra bread that adds up.

Try the burger in two leafs of iceberg lettuce instead of bread or use whole grain bread if u really need the buns.

I remember when I could just give up in between meals and just shed the pounds. Good tip Greg

Hey Greg, that works pretty good for me. What I do is take the buns off, and set the burger and fixings on a plate and eat it with a fork. Yummy!

I'm sure the eating it with the fork slows you down and you eat less. My sister lost 100 by reducing portions.

Laura, now that I joined this group, do I have to give up my Doritos? (Please say no)

Comment by Laura Mikels on January 15, 2013 at 6:44pm
No not everyday Jude. Otherwise I'm in trouble I have this goal and so far I'm getting there, I still lime my pie.

@Jude try the Baked Doritos and let your cats lick off the excess sodium, then bake them for 10 minutes in the oven @350 degrees to remove the excess feline saliva.

Enjoy.

Greg, go have your identity crisis quietly in the corner, & leave my kitty cats alone

Comment by Jude Bourgeois on January 15, 2013 at 7:03pm

Then THAT'S what that smell is

Comment by Greg Stanford on January 15, 2013 at 7:08pm

How can you smell anything with all those cats?
